Host guide

How to complete your host profile — step by step

Registration takes 10–15 minutes. Below is what to prepare and how each step looks. Your data is saved automatically — you can pause and continue later.

What to prepare in advance

ID document Photo of your passport or ID card.
Selfie with your document A photo of you holding the document.
Photos of your home and rooms Bright, clear photos of the home and guest spaces.
Profile photo and phone Your portrait photo and an active phone number.
iPhone photos (including HEIC format) and large images are supported: on upload they are automatically compressed and converted to JPG. Just pick them as usual.
Step 0

Create an account and verify your email

First register (email and password). Then you will receive an email with a confirmation link — you must open it.

This is the most important step: without verifying your email, the account is not activated and you cannot continue. If the email is not in your Inbox, check the Spam/Promotions folder.
  • Use a real email — the confirmation is sent there.
  • After confirming, log in and open “Become a host” to start the form.

Step 1

About you

Tell travelers about yourself — this is the first thing they see. No documents are needed here; that comes later.

  • Profile photo, name, age, profession
  • Languages: your native language and others you speak — important for matching guests.
  • About me: tell about yourself in as much detail as possible — your family, your home, your hobbies and what your day looks like. The more detail, the more trust you build with travelers.
  • Life photos: a few candid photos — daily life, family, surroundings.

Step 2

My home, rules & rooms

Enter your address (the exact one is not published), choose your house rules and add a guest room with a description, price, availability calendar and photos.

  • House rules: pick from the list (no smoking, quiet hours…) or add your own.
  • Room description: size, view, atmosphere, what makes it special.
  • Availability calendar: the “from” and “to” dates when the room is free for guests.
  • Price per night & room photos

How much to charge for a room?

Base it on the room’s comfort and your city. Below are rough guidelines (adjust to your case):

Room only $15–30 / night A place to stay, without extra activities.

Example: a $25 room + a cultural program (cooking together and language practice) — you could offer around $40 per night. A surcharge for extra guests can be set separately.

Step 3

Cultural program (optional)

If you want to share your culture, indicate what you can offer guests: language, cuisine, music, crafts, tours.

  • Cultural program: pick activities from the list or add your own.
  • Time for guests per day: how many hours a day you spend with the guest.
  • Activities pricing: included in the stay or paid separately.
  • Don’t offer activities? You can skip this step.

Step 4

Identity verification

The final step is verifying your identity. It protects both hosts and travelers and boosts trust in your profile.

  • ID photo: passport or ID card.
  • Selfie with your ID: a photo of you holding the document.
  • Phone number: an active number to coordinate bookings.
Your ID and selfie are stored in a secure folder and are not visible to other users.

Your progress is saved automatically

Data is saved every time you move to the next step and every few seconds. You can close the page and come back later — the form reopens where you left off. The “Save my information” button at the bottom of each step saves manually and shows a confirmation.

Photos are not saved in the draft — you will need to re-attach them when you return.

If something goes wrong

“Photos are too large” error or the form won’t submit

Photos are compressed automatically, but on a very weak connection the upload may fail. Try again on a good signal or Wi-Fi, or add fewer photos at once.

I had to stop — will I lose my data?

No. Your text data is saved automatically. Log in again and open the host form — you will continue from the same step. You will need to re-attach photos.
